Poterie Renault is a five-generation family-owned company. It dates back to 1847, when it was established at the Chateau du Argent-sur-Sauldre near Orléans, France. During its heyday, Poterie Renault was used by bistros and culinary circles across France. When the family eventually closed up shop they left a factory of untouched stock, some of which we have since been lucky enough to purchase.
These sturdy stoneware batter bowls have slightly turned in rims allowing for mixing, whisking, leavening with minimal potential for spillage. A subtle spout allows for pouring. They are hand shaped from grey clay and salt fired for an earthy finish that has stood the test of time. Bowls sold individually.
