Vintage Saki Ori Blanket

Vintage saki ori blanket from the early 20th century. Saki-ori (lit. "split-weave") is created by shredding old, worn cloth into thin strips and weaving them as weft with cotton thread as warp. The saki-ori technique results in a sturdy, dense fabric that is typically sewn into jackets or into blankets to cover a futon duvet.
