Antique Ko Bako chest from Japan during the Showa era in the mid 20th century. Featuring a keyaki wood face, sugi cedar interior, and bronze hardware, this small chest held small personal items. Tansu is the term given to the antique cabinetry of Japan that was popularized between 1860 and 1910 to provide portable storage for small spaces.
