Grant Collier is a contemporary painter based in Garrison, New York, whose work points to impressions beyond the image itself—what begins in the real world often ends somewhere more elusive. As the poet Billy Collins puts it, the journey starts in Kansas but ends in Oz. Beauty emerges through stillness, distortion, and the unexpected. The paintings are meant not to describe, but to evoke—inviting a quiet, emotional response.

He has exhibited in galleries across the country, and his current work is on view at Nickey Kehoe. These recent paintings offer impressions of landscapes—both observed and remembered—where perception and memory converge.
