Four Seasons Wallpaper (Multiple Colors)

This floral and geometric thimble printed wallpaper from Howe at 36 Bourne Street is printed in Lancashire on paper made from sustainably managed Scandinavian woodland. Charming and elegant, reminiscent of granddad’s pajamas or vintage silk scarf.

Winter: Colder days call for warmth and reassurance. Red berries with grey-mauve leaves represent crisp winter days, frost-touched foliage, rosy cheeks and icy windows.

Autumn: Autumn rustles with a different approach: a brisk walk across Hampstead Heath and russet tones. Copper-orange berries and brown leaves on an unbleached background. The earth reveals itself as the blooming slows and autumn-winter designs are printed on muted backcloths and subdued neutral paper.

Summer: The burnished yellow of Sicilian lemon rind. A colour that bespeaks high summer on Christopher’s farm. The warmer seasons are printed on fresh and bright grounds with lively hues. Days bask, and rays are brandished across yellow-berried walls; a light breeze whispers through the linens of this season’s levity.

Spring: Fresh, bright and blue. Spring’s design heralds renewed energy and the hope of things to come. The coolness of the pale blue is reminiscent of lighter days and early, quiet mornings where the sun rises before the hubbub has begun.
